About Me
The love for photography was instilled in me when years ago as a child, I spent hours leafing through countless editions of the National Geographic magazine, feeling deeply inspired and moved by the images there.
Much later in 1997, I took my first step into photography when I bought my first 35mm SLR for a trip to France. Since then, photography has become an integral part of my life, as I strived to achieve order in a world of apparent disorder with my pictures. For me, simplicity coupled with composition is a beautiful way to give a sense of comfort and confidence to the images’ viewers. The aim and intent of each of my photos is to have the viewer feel those same feelings of mine when I was capturing the image. And to make the images’ viewers understand in some way that the world isn’t all filled with chaos and uncertainty.
In 2005 I qualified for my Licentiate with the United Kingdom’s Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and British Press Photographers Association (BPPA) UK.
Subsequently, in 2010 I was appointed as the official photographer of the Armed Forces of Malta, a position which exposed me to the photojournalism world and further developed my photographic style.
Encouraged by my published work locally and overseas in the print and web media, I decided in 2012 to take my photography studies a step further by pursuing a course for the BTEC Higher National Diploma. During the span of this 2-year program, I had the opportunity to delve into diverse areas of photography while also studying related academic subjects that paved the way for the Degree course. The degree program was completed in 2017, where I excelled as the top student, securing the first position in my class.
